Known for applying new, fun designs to otherwise mundane, everyday items, Alessi has done it again with this glass jar. The classic kitchen and household storage jar has a new face: It's Gianni's. Hanging on tightly to the lid, the little Gianni character was designed by Mattia Di Rosa in 1994. Crafted from thermoplastic resin, the lid provides a tight seal to the glass jar, so it's practical for storing anything from flour, pastas, cereals, and pet foods, to cotton balls and Q-tips. Available in a choice of sizes and colors to meet storage needs, the 6-cup (140 cl) jar measures 4 inches in diameter by 8 inches tall. Jars are dishwasher safe and lids require hand washing.
